Walnut Fudge

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (Hershey's)
  • 2 bags confectioners sugar (set aside 2 cups from one bag)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup milk (adjust to achieve the desired consistency)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cups chopped walnuts

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Fudge Base:
    • In a large pot over low heat, combine milk, vanilla, butter, cocoa powder, and granulated sugar. Stir until fully blended, ensuring the sugar dissolves completely.
  2. Incorporate Confectioners Sugar:
    • Remove the pot from heat and gradually add confectioners sugar, stirring continuously until the mixture achieves a smooth texture. If needed, return to heat to avoid any clumps. Aim for a thick and challenging-to-stir consistency.
  3. Add the Nutty Element:
    • While still on heat, introduce the chopped walnuts to the fudge mixture, making the combination smoother.
  4. Prepare the Pan:
    • Line a regular cake pan with plastic wrap. Transfer the fudge mixture into the pan, spreading it evenly.
  5. Allow to Cool and Slice:
    • Let the fudge cool for approximately 25 to 30 minutes. Once set, slice into individual portions.
  6. Wrap and Enjoy:
    • For added convenience, individually wrap each piece with parchment paper.

Tips:

  • Adjust the milk quantity based on your desired fudge consistency.
  • Feel free to incorporate extra confectioners sugar if necessary for the ideal texture.
