Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup lukewarm milk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 medium egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Dough Preparation:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine 4 cups of flour and 1 teaspoon of salt.
    • Add lukewarm milk, water, sugar, instant yeast, melted butter, egg, and vanilla.
    • Mix all the ingredients together and knead the dough for 7-8 minutes until it becomes smooth.
  2. First Rise:
    • Place the kneaded dough in a bowl lightly coated with oil.
    • Cover the bowl and let the dough rise for 2-3 hours.
  3. Donut Shaping:
    • After the first rise, roll out the dough and cut out donut shapes.
    • Allow the donuts to rise again for 45 minutes.
  4. Glaze Preparation:
    • In a separate bowl, mix 1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons of milk, 2 tablespoons of melted butter, and 1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla until well combined.
  5. Frying:
    • Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat for frying.
    • Fry the donuts until they achieve a golden-brown color.
  6. Glazing:
    • Once fried, dip the donuts in the prepared glaze, ensuring they are fully coated.
