Homemade Cast Iron Rolls

Ingredients:

  • 1 box Pillsbury hot rise
  • 1 packet yeast
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • Additional flour for kneading and shaping

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • Combine the Pillsbury hot rise and yeast packet in a mixing bowl.
    • Melt 2 tbsp of butter in a measuring cup.
    • Stir 1 egg into the melted butter and add the mixture to the flour and yeast, forming a ball of dough.
  2. Knead the Dough:
    • Place the dough on a floured surface.
    • Knead the dough for 5 minutes, rolling and folding it over towards you.
  3. Rest and Divide:
    • Wrap the dough and let it rest for 5 minutes.
    • After resting, cut the dough into 5 pieces.
  4. Shape the Rolls:
    • Roll and shape each piece into balls, adding a little flour to avoid stickiness.
  5. Prepare the Cast Iron:
    • Place the shaped rolls on a prepared cast iron.
  6. Rising Time:
    • Cover the rolls and let them rise until they have doubled in size.
  7. Bake:
    • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
    • Bake the rolls for 18 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Finishing Touch:
    • Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter for a delectable, glossy finish.
