Homemade Cast Iron Rolls
Ingredients:
- 1 box Pillsbury hot rise
- 1 packet yeast
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 egg
- Additional flour for kneading and shaping
Instructions:
- Prepare the Dough:
- Combine the Pillsbury hot rise and yeast packet in a mixing bowl.
- Melt 2 tbsp of butter in a measuring cup.
- Stir 1 egg into the melted butter and add the mixture to the flour and yeast, forming a ball of dough.
- Knead the Dough:
- Place the dough on a floured surface.
- Knead the dough for 5 minutes, rolling and folding it over towards you.
- Rest and Divide:
- Wrap the dough and let it rest for 5 minutes.
- After resting, cut the dough into 5 pieces.
- Shape the Rolls:
- Roll and shape each piece into balls, adding a little flour to avoid stickiness.
- Prepare the Cast Iron:
- Place the shaped rolls on a prepared cast iron.
- Rising Time:
- Cover the rolls and let them rise until they have doubled in size.
- Bake:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Bake the rolls for 18 minutes or until golden brown.
- Finishing Touch:
- Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter for a delectable, glossy finish.
