Mama's Peanut Butter Cake recipe

 Mama's Peanut Butter Cake recipe

Ingredients:

  • Preheat Oven to 350°
  • Spray 9x12 inch pan with nonstick spray.
  • 2 sticks of Butter (room temperature, soft)
  • 1 1/3 cups of Sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups Self-Rising Flour
  • 2/3 cups of milk
  • Teaspoon of Vanilla Flavoring.
  • (I like to add an extra cup of milk and a box of instant Vanilla pudding. Talk about a moist and thick cake!)

Directions:

  1. Beat butter, sugar, and vanilla flavoring until light and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, beating well.
  3. Stir in flour and milk, then mix with an electric mixer until smooth.
    • Note: It may take a little more milk to have a good thick batter.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-40 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.

Peanut Butter Frosting:

  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1/2 cup of Peanut Butter
  • 1 1/2 cups of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla

Directions:

  1. Heat all ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a slight boil. (Sugar should be dissolved by then.)
  2. Pour the frosting over the cake immediately.
